Offering a wide range of garage door openers, including the Liftmaster, they are one of the premiere garage door opener manufacturers in the US.
The acquisition provides benefits for Chamberlain as it can increase its market size, improve its brand identity, and have easier access to new technologies thanks to access to new monetary sources.
Of course, the disadvantages are prominent as well. The greatest pressure will be The Blackstone Group trying to recoup its acquisition price as quickly as possible. Other pressures will include shareholder input influencing business decisions and the overall quality of the products may be reduced as well.
That said, at least for the time being, expect Chamberlain
to maintain its quality, price, and output. However, for garage door repair companies, this
situation may change by the end of the year.
